This year’s breakfast theme is “Breaking Down Barriers to Inclusion.” We strive to protect the ideal that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are entitled to the same respect, dignity, equality, safety, and security accorded to other members of society. People with IDD belong in the community and have fundamental moral, civil and constitutional rights to be fully included and actively participate in all aspects of society. People with IDD are part of and contribute to the fabric of society. Everyone benefits when people with IDD are present and participate. As we begin our seventh decade of advocacy and support, the individuals we serve continue to inspire all of us to fight for full inclusion; for the opportunity to live “A Life Like Yours.”
Yes, this is a fundraiser. However, there is no cost to attend the breakfast, and no minimum or maximum suggested donation. It will be up to us to inspire you with the stories of those we serve. The important thing is to attend. We would love for you to hear first-hand what The Arc of Northern Virginia does, and meet some of the people whose lives have been changed for the better.
